The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) has announced it will kick off a rulemaking process this fall to amend the existing water fees. As part of this work the agency will consider the fees for municipal and industrial wastewater permits, noncontact cooling water permits, stormwater permits, feedlot permits, septic systems, environmental review, variances and more. The MPCA is planning stakeholder meetings and will publish a request for comments with more information in the State Register later this fall.

In the meantime, MESERB has worked with the MPCA to schedule a one-hour SKYPE meeting so that our members can learn more about this proposal. It is scheduled for 8-9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16. You can attend from your computer or in-person in Saint Paul. Please RSVP to Gretel Lee at gllee@flaherty-hood.com to receive the call-in information for the meeting.
